The James Webb telescope has unfolded and arrived at its destination about 1,000,000 miles from Earth. There are tremendous 3D printing aspects here as many of the parts were designed with the assistance of 3D printing, helping validate many of the new technologies found in the telescope.
There’s a great looking Webinar on January 26, 2022 by MakerBot called “Launching into Space with 3D Printing & the James Webb Telescope” you may want to check out. If you’re reading this after the fact it looks like it’ll also be recorded.
You can also print your own James Webb telescope model with files from NASA! If you don’t have a printer you can even snag a 3D printed model on Etsy that looks fantastic designed by the people at 3dPros!
